Project story

Creating opportunities where it matters

In a country in Central Asia where freedom of religion is highly restricted and economic opportunities are limited; Christian leaders face a double challenge. These individuals are frequently isolated due to their faith and lack the necessary resources and financial capital to establish a business.

Our Business Program is poised to transform the landscape of entrepreneurship in our community.
We provide Christian entrepreneurs with the tools they need to build sustainable businesses that support their families and strengthen faith communities. Our comprehensive approach combines business training, coaching, seed capital, and a strong local network to help entrepreneurs achieve their goals. These leaders become role models, job creators, and reliable points of contact in their local areas.

COMMENT: the work of the organization in question is highly sensitive in Central Asia. Mission work in particular entails risks. Due to the safety of the local employees, we unfortunately cannot mention the name of the organization nor the project here online. If you would like to know more about their work, we would be happy to tell you all about it in a personal conversation!

Impact so far
This approach has proven effective. Entrepreneurship fosters self-confidence, ownership, and the ability to build a better future for themselves, their families, and their communities. Last year, several business owners provided testimony on how their company has allowed them to build meaningful connections, share their faith, and support other believers.

“Thanks to the support, I’ve not only started a business but also created jobs for others. Through my work, I meet many people and can be a witness through my actions. When people are open to know more about God, I share the gospel step by step.” – Local entrepreneur

A unique and practical program
Our goal is to support 10 new Christian entrepreneurs in various regions of the country. Our program offers a systematic approach that integrates practical business development with personal growth and discipleship support.

The program is structured into five phases:

  1. Selection: Determining which Christian leaders have the potential to excel in an entrepreneurial role
  2. Training is provided in the form of practical sessions that focus on the essential aspects of starting and managing a business.
  3. We offer personalized coaching and one-on-one mentoring to help you strengthen your business and leadership skills.
  4. Seed capital refers to a one-time investment of €12.000 per business to support its initial establishment.
  5. Networking is the process of establishing connections with individuals in the same field, as well as with relevant markets and professional mentors.

The focus is on sectors with both economic and social relevance, such as local food production and processing. Our objective is to achieve tangible impact, rather than merely theoretical concepts.

The multiplier effect
Christian participants in this program are often already active in leading small groups of believers. Their businesses become places of trust and relational evangelism—where faith is shared quietly, through integrity, excellent service, and personal testimony. All of these businesses serve as practical examples of what we call Business as Mission (BAM). The combination of economic independence and spiritual influence has a multiplier effect, strengthening families, communities, and faith networks.

Future vision
We recently certified four local business consultants, who now train and guide new entrepreneurs. This year, we are building on that momentum by launching 10 new businesses, each with the potential to:

  • The creation of local employment opportunities is a key objective.
  • Encourage others to adhere to responsible practices.
  • To provide assistance to other individuals who share the same beliefs.
  • To reduce the dependence on external aid.

Our long-term vision is to support the development of at least one strong Christian-led business in each province of the country.

Project costs
To launch the next phase of this program, we are seeking support totaling € 100.000. This contributes to the overall project need of €153.900 for 2025. Of this amount, €120.000 is allocated to supporting start-ups with seed capital, and €33.900 is designated for business training and coaching. Mission Invest aims to provide support of €100.000, while the remaining amount will be contributed by the local implementing organization.

All entrepreneurs will be accompanied by coaches for at least a year. Progress is closely monitored through key performance indicators (KPIs), including business launch within two months, achieving cash flow within six months, customer growth, and the use of simple bookkeeping tools provided during training.

Why your support matters
This project is more than just business. It’s about empowering faith-driven leaders to be salt and light in one of the most closed regions in the world—through the quiet, steady witness of a healthy, local business.
Your contribution helps plant seeds of economic growth and spiritual hope.
